Yes, our ingredients are sourced from organic farms and vendors to ensure your baby is never exposed to pesticides or any other nasties found on or in conventional produce.
We source our ingredients exclusively from organic farms & vendors who share our vision for fresh, nutrient-dense produce & high quality standards.
Our food stays fresh in the fridge for 3 days and in the freezer for 1 month. We advise you not to leave your baby food out at room temperature for more than an hour.
Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to accommodate specific allergies. All of our meals are dairy, soy, gluten and nut-free. However, our ingredients are prepared in a facility that processes nuts and soy (not gluten or dairy). We recommend refraining from delivery if your baby has severe allergies to nuts or soy.
If you have more questions about allergies, our team would be happy to help you! Please email baby@thistle.co
The answer is as much as (s)he wants! Your baby knows how much to eat and it can vary significantly day to day or meal to meal. That said here are some general guidelines - just remember you know your baby best and if you have specific questions on your baby’s eating, please reach out to your pediatrician.
Birth to 4 months: Your baby’s digestive tract is still developing, so solid or pureed foods are off-limits for now
4 to 6 months: Begin with 1 teaspoon of pureed food and gradually increase to 1 tablespoon mixed with breast milk or formula per meal
6 to 8 months: Increase from 1 tablespoon with supplemental liquid to 2-3 tablespoons of just puree per meal
8 months +: Begin exploring more solid foods such as yogurt, oats, protein, soft cooked veggies, etc. and add these to 4+ tablespoons of puree
Please help us in our commitment to reduce waste by reusing and recycling your packaging materials:
THE BOX: Our boxes are 100% recyclable - just break down the box and place curbside with your recycling.
INSULATION: Our insulated liner is made from 100% recycled material (recycled burlap sacks from coffee houses) and simply throwing it in the trash adds no new material to the waste stream. If you’d like, the fiber can also be composted and the LDPE film surrounding it can be recycled at your local grocery store or plastic recycling facility.
ICE PACKS: Our ice packs are 100% biodegradable, non-toxic, and can be reused, donated, or recycled! Organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club, Goodwill, local food banks & soup kitchens, the SPCA, and youth sports clubs or dance companies all love ice pack donations. To dispose of the ice packs, simply cut the corner of the thawed pack and drain the contents into your compost or garbage and recycle the plastic bag.
INGREDIENT PACKETS: All of our ingredient bags are made of plastic that can be recycled. Simply rinse and place with your recycling.
